He wins a golden ticket and is one of five children chosen to explore the magical factory. The other children are:
* Veruca Salt: A spoiled and demanding girl who wants everything now.

* Violet Beauregarde: A chewing gum addict who loves to chew.
* Mike Teavee: A TV-obsessed boy who is obsessed with technology.
The tour takes them through many different rooms and sections of the factory, each with its own unique features and dangers.
