Did Kurt cobain copy killing joke?

Kurt Cobain, the late frontman of Nirvana, has been accused of plagiarizing the music of the post-punk band Killing Joke. Specifically, the Nirvana song "Come as You Are" (1991) has been compared to Killing Joke's "Eighties" (1984). Both songs feature a descending arpeggiated guitar riff, which, in the case of "Come as You Are," was written by Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic. Despite claims of plagiarism, Killing Joke has never taken legal action against Nirvana. Furthermore, in 2007, Killing Joke drummer Paul Ferguson expressed gratitude that their musical ideas resonated with the spirit of their era and influenced other artists
