Daniel Jacob Radcliffe (born 23 July 1989) is an English actor. He rose to stardom as a child actor, playing Harry Potter in the series of films based on the books by J. K. Rowling. At age 11, Radcliffe was cast in the title role of the film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001). He reprised the role in the seven subsequent sequels.

Radcliffe's performance as Harry Potter received widespread critical acclaim, and he was nominated for numerous awards, including the BAFTA Film Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. He was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy three times.

In addition to his role as Harry Potter, Radcliffe has also starred in a number of other films, including The Woman in Black (2012), Kill Your Darlings (2013), Swiss Army Man (2016), and Jungle (2017). He has also appeared in the stage productions Equus (2007), How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (2011), and The Cripple of Inishmaan (2018).

In 2020, Radcliffe was cast as the lead role in the television series Miracle Workers, which aired on TBS. He also starred in the film Guns Akimbo (2020).

Radcliffe has been involved in numerous charitable activities. In 2009, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire for his services to drama. He is also the founder of the Harry Potter Alliance, a non-profit organization that works to promote social change.

Personal life

Radcliffe has been in a relationship with actress Erin Darke since 2012. They met while filming Kill Your Darlings. They currently reside in New York City.
