Who is Laerets in Hamlet?

Laertes is the son of Polonius, the King's chief councilor. He is Ophelia's brother and has a strong bond with her. Before leaving to pursue his studies in France, Laertes advises his sister to not entertain Hamlet's advances. Upon his return, he blames Hamlet for his father's death, his sister's madness and suicide and seeks to avenge them.
