What is a Christmas carol?

A Christmas carol is a religious song or hymn sung during the Christmas season. Christmas carols are typically sung by groups of people, such as choirs, or by individuals, and are often accompanied by musical instruments such as pianos, organs, or guitars. Carols are often upbeat and joyful in tone, and often tell stories or share messages of hope and faith. Many traditional Christmas carols have been passed down through generations and continue to be sung today, while new carols are also composed each year. Some popular Christmas carols include "Silent Night," "Joy to the World," "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing," "O Come, All Ye Faithful," and "The First Noel."
