Why did Bono write the song The Sweetest Thing?

The song "The Sweetest thing" was written by Chad Kroeger, lead vocalist of the band Nickleback, and was released in 2005 as the lead single of their sixth album, "All the Right Reasons". Bono, the lead vocalist of the band U2, was not involved in the writing or recording of this song.
