By the bend of the river,
Where the water ripples fast,
Stands a lovely willow tree,
With its branches spreading vast.
In the early morning light,
When the sun is shining bright,
The leaves of the willow tree
Dance and shimmer with delight.
And the birds sing in the branches,
A song of joy and praise,
To the One who created all,
In these wondrous woodland ways.
By the bend of the river,
Where the water flows so clear,
I love to sit and ponder,
On the wonders that are near.
For in the beauty of nature,
God's handiwork I see,
And my heart is filled with gratitude,
For all His love to me.
So by the bend of the river,
Where the willow tree doth grow,
I find a place of peace and joy,
And my spirit's overflow.
