Look on the album cover or accompanying booklet. Many artists include the lyrics to their songs with their albums. If you need to manipulate the lyrics, such as blacking out certain lyrics for guessing games, spending time typing out lyrics may be more work than you want to do.
Transcribe the lyrics by listening to the song itself. This method requires patience and a good ear for the lyrics, as well as replaying a song line many times to get the lyrics down right.
Go to a song lyric website such as Zworks (see Resources below). Many websites feature collections of song lyrics, organized by title with alphabetical searches. However, many of these sites are fan-run and often include typographical errors. When in doubt, consult several sites or compare the lyrics against the original song.
Consult the artist's website. Many artists post lyrics to their songs on their websites, or their record companies do so for them if they maintain the site. Use this option if you want lyrics for all of the songs on an album, as opposed to a smattering of recordings by a given artist.
Use your favorite Internet search engine to find lyrics. Enclose either the song title or a line from the song in quotation marks in the search field. Do not include the word "lyrics" inside the quotes in your search, although you may wish to include it separated from the song title by a plus sign. You may also search for lyrics by subject by including the words "songs about" or "subject," followed by the subject.
Visit a library or music store to find the lyrics you seek and can't find online. Often, the librarian may have advice on searching reference material that may not have occurred to you.
