Network with people in your church and other churches in the community. Talk to music directors and directors of music ministries. Others should be willing to help you in your efforts to minister via your Country Gospel lyrics and songs. Perform your songs and promote your music at church gatherings. People in the Country Gospel music industry are also church members, so finding an audience for your music is an important first step.
Register your Country Gospel songs with the U.S. Copyright Office. You can do this on-line or through the mail. You will need recordings of your songs, copies of your lyrics, a completed form, and the requisite fee.
Look up Country Gospel music publishers. They can be found through various books and Internet sources that often include both secular and Christian publishers. Find out how these publishers prefer that songs be presented to them. There are many different music publishers and Country Gospel music organizations, including the International Country Gospel Music Association, Christian Country Music Association, Country Gospel Music Guild, Country Gospel Music Association, and The United States Association of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians. Make sure your songs and lyrics reflect those of the publisher you wish to contact. Send copies of your lyrics and songs to the publishers you are interested in.
Negotiate a contract with interested Country Gospel music publishers. Most of the time, you will get a 50 percent share of profits, while the publisher keeps the other half. You will assign your copyrights to the music publisher, who will then promote your songs and license them to Country Gospel markets.
