_When Israel was in Egypt's land,
Let my people go,
Oppressed so hard they could not stand,
Let my people go.
Go down, Moses,
Way down in Egypt's land,
Tell old Pharoah,
To let my people go._
_Thus saith the Lord, bold Moses said,
Let my people go,
If not I'll smite your first-born dead,
Let my people go._
_Pharoah said, "Who's the Lord?" he said,
Let my people go
I don't care what Moses said,
Let my people go._
_Then Moses stretched his rod,
Let my people go
And smote the waters with the rod,
Let my people go._
_And the waters rolled back,
Let my people go
Right down into the sea,
Let my people go._
_The Lord said, "Go right through,"
Let my people go
The Israelites marched on dry ground,
Let my people go._
_The Lord said, "Go right through,"
Let my people go
Moses raised his rod,
And the waters closed,
Let my people go._
_God's children saw Pharoah's host
Let my people go
All drowned in the raging flood,
Let my people go._
_And as they stood on the other side
Let my people go
They praised the Lord
Who's power could divide
Let my people go._
