Shikwa (Complaint):
O God! Why you have turned away?
This is really a complaint of the oppressed
O God! Where is your justice as the day of judgement seems like a tale
It hurts me deep down my heart as we are deprived
You have created day and night, moon and stars with your power
But when the veil is lifted, all seems to be a mirage
You did not grant me the power of speech,
and now there is no power to speak
You left me helpless,
and now I cannot fight with others
O God! You have created countless creatures,
Why didn't you give any respect to my status?
Why you have done injustice on me?
If this is your justice,
then I'll leave you and your court right now
I'll seek justice from the supreme and the just
who is impartial judge
Jawab-e-Shikwa (Reply to the Complaint):
O mortal! you are talking about your misery
What is the misery and what is the pain, it is known to me
But there are more than you in the world
The one suffering from thirst, their tongues sticking to their palates
The cry of women from being enslaved hurts my heart
The heart beats rapidly when orphans and widowed women cry
These are the oppressed too,
I don't know,
when will they come out from this hell?
You're complaining like I have forgotten you
But in reality I have not forgotten you
I've taken the exam of your patience,
and now you have failed in the test
The patience of prophet Job was so great
that in the pain he used to thank me
O mortal! there is so much injustice
that justice doesn't seem to be possible even in the heavens
But remember that my time doesn't end,
I am going to do justice one day
That'll be such a day which no one has ever seen before
So don't become hopeless and be patient
I am the almighty, I'm going to do justice
