Can singing when your sick be bad for voice?

Singing while sick can put strain on the vocal cords, which can lead to hoarseness, inflammation, and even damage. When you are sick, your vocal cords are already irritated and swollen, and singing can further exacerbate this condition. Additionally, singing can cause you to breathe in more germs, which can worsen your illness. In general, it is best to rest your voice when you are sick. If you must sing, try to keep it to a minimum and avoid singing at high volumes.
