TROOP are an active American R&B vocal group which rose to fame during the New Jack Swing era of the late 1980s, early 1990s and are still doing shows.

Comprising members Steve Russell Harts, Rodney Benford, Jon Lind, Allen McNeil, and Reggie Warren in Pasadena, California in 1985; their name is an acronym which initially stood for "Total Respect of Other People", later changed into "The Rhythm of Our Only Place".
