You can create a bulletin board for your choir that focuses around upcoming performances. Post a title at the top of the board, such as "Performance Schedule." Print calendars to post below the title, and mark performance dates with highlighters and notes concerning the performance. Surround the calendars with musical symbols and pictures for decoration.
This type of bulletin board reflects the shared experiences of your choir and makes a great end-of-the-year type of display. Create a title such as "Singing Through the Year." You also can create subtitles for each individual performance and scatter these across the board. Fill in the rest of the board with pictures of your choir. Make sure to mix up serious performance pictures with funny candid shots. You choir will love viewing these pictures and reminiscing about the year.
You can use this type of bulletin board to encourage your choir members to practice good singing habits. Entitle the board, "Singing Tips." Write individual tips on strips of construction paper and post them around the board. You can use ideas like, "Use correct posture when singing," and "Drink plenty of water." Then fill in the areas between the tips with pictures illustrating these tips. You could use pictures such as a group of singers, a water bottle and a spine (for posture). Review these tips with your choral group and remind them of the tips from time to time.
Many choral groups become discouraged if they don't feel appreciated by their audience. This type of bulletin board helps to encourage your choir members. If you have a regular audience like a church congregation or a school body, pass out index cards to the audience members before a performance. Ask them to take a moment after the performance to express a note of appreciation to the choir. Collect the cards after the performance and post them on a bulletin board along with cut-outs of music notes surrounding them. Entitle the board, "Notes of Appreciation."
