Professional Singer Colleges

If you have a passion for singing, professional singer colleges can help your dream come true. Singing can be a rewarding career, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics expects singing jobs to increase by eight percent through the year 2018. Competition will be strong, though, and a music degree from a college or university can increase your chances of landing a top singing job.
  1. Arizona State University

    • Arizona State University's Herberger Institute School of Music offers a bachelor of music in performance with a concentration in voice, which will prepare you for a professional singing career. The coursework includes musical research, classroom study, vocal practicing, lesson preparation, and studio presentations, as well as participation in an ensemble. You'll also perform in any of the five concert halls on campus--some of the best-designed music facilities in the country. Some of the courses offered include French, German, and Italian diction, song literature, and repertoire. The faculty--some of whom are professional singers--will teach you vocal and technical singing techniques, musical interpretation, and how to apply language and diction to your singing.
