Justin Bieber is currently signed with Def Jam Recordings. He began his career in the early 2000s as a street performer in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. In 2008, he was discovered by Scooter Braun, who became his manager. Braun arranged for Bieber to meet with Usher, who signed him to a recording contract with Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG) in 2008. Bieber then signed a joint venture deal with Island Records and RBMG. In 2019, Bieber signed a new recording contract with Def Jam Recordings, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group.
