Yes, Beyoncé did take singing classes. She started taking singing lessons at the age of seven from her mother, Tina Knowles, who is a former salon owner and a former R&B group member. Beyoncé also studied dance and attended vocal lessons at St. Mary's Elementary School in Houston, Texas. Later on, she attended Parker Elementary School in Houston and Alief Elsik High School, where she was a member of the school choir and the band.
