When year did the band one direction start to sing?

The band One Direction was formed in 2010 and began singing that same year. They gained significant popularity after competing on the seventh season of the UK music competition show The X Factor in 2010. Although they didn't win the competition, they finished in third place and went on to sign a recording contract with Syco Music.
