How do I connect a Shure PG58 microphone to computer?

Option 1: Using an Audio Interface

1. Turn off phantom power. Make sure that the phantom power is turned off on your audio interface if it has one. Phantom power is not required for dynamic microphones like the Shure PG58 and could damage the microphone.

2. Connect the microphone to the audio interface. Connect the XLR cable from the Shure PG58 to the XLR input on the audio interface.

3. Connect the audio interface to the computer. Connect the USB cable from the audio interface to the USB port on the computer.

4. Install the audio interface driver. If necessary, install the audio interface driver on the computer. The driver can usually be downloaded from the manufacturer's website.

5. Select the audio interface as the input device. In the audio settings on the computer, select the audio interface as the input device.

6. Open your recording software. Open the recording software on the computer and select the audio interface as the input device.

7. Adjust the input level. Adjust the input level on the audio interface so that the microphone signal is not too loud or too soft.

8. Start recording. Start recording in the recording software.

Option 2: Using a USB Microphone

1. Plug your Shure PG58 microphone into the USB port of your computer.

2. Select your Shure PG58 microphone as the input device in your computer's sound settings.

3. Open your recording software of choice and select the Shure PG58 microphone as your input device.

That's it! You can now start recording audio using the Shure PG58 microphone on your PC.
