What do you with recorder joint grease?

Recorder joint grease is applied to wooden recorders as a lubricating agent to prevent the joints from sticking. If the joints become too dry, they can potentially get stuck or be difficult to pull apart, which can damage the instrument. Applying a thin layer of recorder joint grease to the tenons (male) of the joints before inserting them into the sockets (female) can prevent this.
