Instructions

    • 1

Download a program that creates documents the exact size and shape of your CD labels. You can do this in Microsoft Word and other word-processing programs, but it just isn’t the same. Go to a site like World Label, determine the size of CD for which you are creating labels and click "Download" next to the appropriate template. A new window opens. Click "Save to your computer." Open the document from your desktop.

Design your CD labels. Drag photos of your band onto the design software and organize it how you want it.

    • 3

List the titles and artists of all of the tracks on the CD. If it’s a CD of your own music, use a graphic design program to get really creative and use cool fonts and band photos.

    • 4

Print out your designs. If you have an inkjet printer, the results will generally look very good. If you have a laser printer, the results will be even better. There are even kinds of printers that will print a label directly on special disks designed for this.

Apply the label to each disk. This is careful, delicate work, so try inserting a pencil inside the center hole of the CD and slipping the label over it to make sure it’s lined up. You can also try putting the CD and label into a box with a right angle and line it up that way.
