A near-endless amount of websites are popping up that are designed to assist independent musicians in selling their music directly to the buyer. Many take a portion of the sale, but they are perfect for the beginning musician. After making a really good beat or instrumental track, where can a beat-maker go to sell it?

      Sign up for a free PayPal account. This is the primary method of payment used for digital sales and allows for instant payment delivery.

      Create a MySpace, Facebook and Twitter account to use for promoting the beats and instrumentals for sale.

      Upload a few sample beats to the MySpace and Facebook profiles.

      Create a Reverb Nation musician profile and upload the beats and instrumentals to the Reverb Nation store. Make sure to include the full song name and set a price for the download.

      Click on "Promote" to create a widget to use promote the uploaded beats and instrumentals. Place the promotion widget on MySpace and Facebook and link to the Reverb Nation profile from Twitter.

      Sign up for a service such as BandBox. BandBox costs a few dollars a month, but it allows artists to keep 100% of the profit from selling their music online.
