Open Windows Media Player and then place the audio CD into the computer CD drive. Click the "Rip" tab, which is located at the top of the screen in Windows Media Player.
Click on "Tools" at the top of the media player then select "Rip Music" from the list of tabs. Select a destination folder for the songs in the "Rip music to this location" box. Scroll down to "Rip Settings" and make sure it says "MP3" under the "Format" drop-down menu. Click "OK" at the bottom of the options window.
Select songs that you wish to rip from the CD by un-checking the box for unwanted songs. Click the "Rip Music" button located on the top right-hand corner of the media player. Wait for the songs to finish ripping on the media player.
Open the music-editing program and import the song by selecting "File" then "Import" from the top menu.
Select the drop-down arrow, located to the left in the "Track Options" and select "Split Stereo Track". The song will split into two tracks, a "Left" and "Right" track.
Click to highlight the "Right" track then select "Effects" and "Invert" from the top menu. Select the drop-down arrow on the "Right" track in the "Track Options" and select "Mono". Click to highlight the "Left" track then click the drop-down arrow and select "Mono."
Save the song to your computer by selecting "File" then "Save" from the top menu. Repeat the above steps to remove vocals from additional songs.
