Adjust the track levels in your mix. Sony Acid Pro 7 allows you to record instruments on separate tracks that allow you to edit each instrument separately. Lower or raise the audio level of each of your tracks until you clearly can hear each instrument in the mix. Watch the master audio levels when adjusting the individual tracks. If you raise the individual tracks too high, your master levels will raise too high and distort the quality of your recording.
Adjust the EQ levels. Sony Acid Pro 7 also features a variety of EQ filters that allow you to manipulate the frequency settings of each individual track. For example, if a snare drum microphone is picking up some of the bass drum noise, you can use an EQ filter to block out the low frequencies of the bass drum and allow the track to focus on the high frequencies of the snare drum.
Add filters to your tracks. You also can edit tracks in Sony Acid Pro 7 by adding effects filters. Effects filters allow you to dramatically alter a track's sound. For example, if you have a recording of a guitar, you can use an effects filter to change the sound of the guitar with different effects such as distortion, phasers, flangers and other options.
