How to AutoTune in Cool Edit Pro

Cool Edit Pro is an industry-standard multitrack linear editing program. Cool Edit Pro saw many changes and program changes until it was purchased by Adobe, which turned into Adobe Audition. Prior to being sold to Adobe, Cool Edit implemented a primitive Pitch Correction feature is known as "AutoTune." If used in moderation, AutoTune can help make sure that a singer's pitches are correct. If used heavily, AutoTune gives vocals a mechanic sound, which can be desirable or undesirable, depending on the desired effect.

Instructions

      Click on and launch Cool Edit Pro, and open your recording session.

      Double-click on your vocal track, which opens up your waveform in the the "Edit View" window.

      Right-click on the waveform. An option window opens. Select the "Select Entire Wave" option, which highlights your entire vocal track.

      Click on the "Effects" tab at the top of your screen. A drop-down menu appears. Select the "Time/Pitch Change" option, which opens a separate window.

      Look to the left of the window that just opened. Select the "Pitch Correction" option in the option box.

      Choose the key that you want to which you want to pitch-correct. If the song is in the key of C, correct to C.

      Click, "OK." The audio track is tuned.
