Select the "Shift" key on the top right of corner of the device and hold it while pressing pad "7" located beneath it. The pad will light up. Select the "Project/Utility" key from the top center of the device. Select the "Enter" key.
There will now be a display indicating that you are in the "Kit File" menu. Press the right arrow key until you see "New File" display then select the "Enter" key. Press the "Enter" key again to create a new file.
Push the "Rhythm" button repeatedly until it lights up green. Hold "Shift" while selecting pad "9" to program the on-board drum pads. The screen will now display "Pad 1-1 Empty." The first number "1" indicates the pad bank number that corresponds to the program of all nine pads. The second "1" indicates which pad is selected. Use the right cursor key to move to the second "1" and up and down to choose which pad you would like to program. Press the "Edit" key to change its sound.
Use the up and down cursor keys to select which sound you would like to correspond to the pad you have selected. Examples include "long kick," "high hat," "short snare" and other common drum sounds.
Select the "Function" key then press the "Enter" key. The screen will now display the sample you would like to load to your selected pad. To hear this sample select "Play." To assign the sound to the pad, select "Enter" two more times. Press the "Exit" key several times to return to the main menu.
