How to Drop the Pitch of a Vocal

To drop the pitch of vocals, you must either have a pitch-correction software program or a pitch-correction plug-in. Music editing software, such as Sonar HomeStudio, Cubase and FL Studio, allow you to adjust the pitch of vocals by configuring the wave signal. Redirecting the wave signal can result in a variety of effects, such as auto tune and robotic warps, however; you must place the vocals on a lower octave to drop the pitch. It is recommended that the vocal tracks be mono-Capella, without music, before importing them into the software.
