How to Install a Snowball Mic

Installing a Snowball Microphone is a simple process that you can complete quickly on a PC or Mac. The Snowball does not require any software to operate, but you will need some type of digital audio software to use the microphone within. The Blue Snowball is compatible with a variety of audio software programs including GarageBand, Logic 7, Logic Pro 8, Sonar and Adobe Premier Elements 4. Other programs are compatible, but have not yet been tested and confirmed.

Instructions

  1. PC with Windows 7

      Click the "Start" button in the bottom left corner of your screen.

      Select the "Control Panel."

      Click "Hardware/Sound."

      Click "Sound."

      Open the "Recording" tab in the "Sound" menu.

      Select the "Snowball" as the "Default Input Device."

      Adjust the volume of the microphone within the "Levels" menu.

    Mac

      Click the Apple icon in the top left corner of your screen.

      Select "System Preferences."

      Double-click the "Sound" category.

      Highlight the "Input" tab in the "Sound" menu.

      Double click the "Blue USB Ball Mic" beneath the "Choose a device for sound input" heading.

      Adjust the "Input Volume" slider to set the volume of the microphone.

      Close the "System Preferences" menu.
