How to Reverse Tracks in Sonar

SONAR by Cakewalk is a digital audio workstation loaded with features for recording and editing both Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) and audio data. Out of the box, SONAR is ready to record complex projects without the need for add-ons or plug-ins. Audio is handled in two basic units. A "track" organizes one or more "clips." A vocal track may have separate clips for each verse. Most processing is performed on individual clips or selected groups of clips within a track.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the project containing the audio track you wish to reverse. Within the track, click on the appropriate clip. The appearance of the clip will change to indicate it is selected.

    • 2

Select "Process" from the toolbar. Click "Audio" from the drop-down menu, then click on "Reverse." Your selected clip is now reversed. Continue with other clips that require treatment.

    • 3

Reverse MIDI tracks by first converting MIDI to audio. There is no equivalent process for MIDI data. Consult the manual or help files for your version of SONAR for MIDI-to-audio conversion.
