Connect the audio interface to the computer with its USB cable. Plug the microphone into an input channel of the interface. Insert the driver CD, and install the necessary drivers for the audio interface. Consult the instruction manual for the exact procedure, because it varies among different models.
Insert the Auto-Tune disc, or double-click the downloaded file to install the Auto-Tune plug-in. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation process. The plug-in will now be recognized by any VST-host software.
Open a VST-compatible host software such as Sonar, VSTHost or Cubase. Create a new track if necessary.
Add the Auto-Tune effect to the first track. This is generally done by right-clicking the “FX” portion of the track and selecting “Antares Auto-Tune.”
Enable live input monitoring on the track so that you can hear the effect applied live as you sing into the microphone. Most host software has a live monitoring icon for each track that must be enabled.
Adjust the Auto-Tune settings by adjusting the knobs and sliders. Click the “Key” section and choose the key of the song you are singing for best results.
