Open the Ableton Live software program, and wait for its main interface to load on your computer's screen. Click on “Open” at the top of the interface, and open the song file from which you wish to remove vocals by clicking on that file. If it is not an Ableton-saved file, then click on the “File” tab at the top of the interface, and use the “Import” option to access the selected song.
Move the selected file to its own audio track by dragging it to an open track. Locate the “Live Devices” list window next to your new audio track. Scroll down the list, and double-click on the “Utility” folder to expand that folder.
Select the “Difference” option from the “Utility” folder, use your computer's mouse to drag the option to the audio track from which you want to remove vocals, and drop it on that audio track. Wait for the effect to load completely, and then press the “Play” button to preview the file.

If it is not an Ableton-saved file, then click on the “File” tab at the top of the interface, and use “Import” to access the selected song.
Move the song to its own audio track by dragging it to an empty track. Locate the “Live Devices” list window to the left of your new audio track. Scroll down the list, and select the “EQ Eight” folder. Double-click on the "EQ Eight” folder to expand the folder.
Click on the “Filter” folder to expand it, and select the “Center Kill” effect. Use your computer's mouse to drag the “Center Kill” effect to the audio track from which you wish to remove vocals, and drop the effect on that audio track. Wait for the effect to load fully, and then preview the song.
