Behind the Factory Stereo: Remove the factory stereo by unscrewing the mounting bolts and gently pulling it out. Behind the stereo, you should see several wiring harnesses connected to the back. Look for a single wire (usually blue or white in color) that is labeled as "Antenna" or "ANT." This is the radio antenna wire.
In the Antenna Connection Port: Some Mercury Mountaineers may have a dedicated antenna connection port located in the dashboard or center console. This is typically a small, circular port with a label or icon indicating that it's for the antenna. If your Mountaineer has this port, the radio antenna wire should be connected to it.
Behind the Glove Box: In some models, the radio antenna wire may be located behind the glove box. To access this area, open the glove box and gently press the sides inward to release the hinges. Remove the glove box by pulling it out. Look for a bundle of wires on the left or right side of the glove box area. The radio antenna wire should be among these wires.
Once you've located the radio antenna wire, you can connect it to the appropriate input terminal on the CD player using the provided wiring harness. Refer to the user manual or installation instructions for your specific CD player for more detailed guidance.
