- Radio removal tool
Instructions:
1. Turn off the engine and remove the keys from the ignition.
2. Insert the radio removal tool into the slots on both sides of the radio. Be careful that you insert it all the way to avoid damaging the radio.
3. Pull the radio removal tool toward the front of the car. This should release the latches that hold the radio in place.
4. Once the latches are released, you can pull the radio out from the dashboard.
5. Disconnect the wiring harness and the antenna from the back of the radio.
6. Remove the old radio from the car.
7. To install a new radio, simply follow the steps in reverse order.
Here are some additional tips for removing the radio in a 2004 Pontiac Montana:
- If you have trouble inserting the radio removal tool, you can try gently prying the sides of the radio out with a flat-head screwdriver.
- Be careful not to damage the wiring harness and the antenna when you are disconnecting them from the back of the radio.
- If you are not comfortable with doing this yourself, you can always take your car to a mechanic to have it done for you.
