Keep your design simple. Flyers which have too many images, and too much writing, can be overwhelming to the viewer, which will not encourage them to retain information as well as a simply designed flyer which contains the below elements but does not bombard the viewer with too much information.
Use an eye-catching graphic to draw attention to your flyer. The right picture can bring in a passerby, allowing them to then read the words about your product on the flyer.
Write a catchy title or tagline on the flyer which will stick in the mind of anyone who reads the flyer. Keep it short and simple. If you are having a hard time coming up with a tagline, think of the slogans of large companies you have seen in commercials or advertisements. A simple, catchy sentence that is easy to remember will keep your product in the mind of the reader after they have left.
Highlight the perks of the product or artist the flyer is promoting. Focus on areas which your product excels in comparison to competitors, or if you are offering something unique, highlight areas of the reader's life which your product will improve upon.
Include testimonials from fans or satisfied customers. Reading the experience of another person who has experienced what your flyer is advertising and has enjoyed the experience enough to offer a positive quote can be very persuasive.
Consider offering coupons or other special offers on the poster. The implication that they will be getting a deal can be enough to encourage a reader to try your product who may otherwise not have, and if they are satisfied, you can have a new repeat customer.
