How to Remove the Sticker From a CD Case

CD cases often have stickers on the front, most often to mention hit songs or features that are on that particular disc. These stickers are notorious for being difficult to remove and leaving behind a sticky residue that collects dust and dirt, which gives the case an unsightly appearance. With the right technique, stickers on a CD case can efficiently be removed and won't leave behind any sign that they were originally there.

Instructions

    • 1

Lift one corner of the sticker with a fingernail. If your fingernails are too short, you can use a razor blade.

    • 2

Peel the sticker away from the case slowly. If you peel too quickly, you will likely tear the sticker. Start peeling in a new corner if the sticker rips.

    • 3

Scratch off as much sticker residue as possible with your fingernail. Do not use a razor blade for this as it may scratch the case.

    • 4

Spray WD-40 on any sticker residue you cannot remove. Let it soak into the sticker for one minute and then scrub it away with a paper towel.
