How to Display Album Artwork

Some music collectors appreciate an album's artwork almost as much as the music. You can display your album artwork in acrylic frames that are easy to operate and maintain. Several types of frames are available, including those that let you display the actual vinyl record or CD alongside the artwork. Album frames can be propped on shelves or displayed on the wall. According to Frame My Record, using an album frame "allows customers to rekindle the old memories of album vinyl and days gone by."

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the plastic and/or packaging from the album artwork frame. Save any instructions.

    • 2

Read the instructions for your frame's construction. If no instructions are included, examine the album artwork frame to see how it functions.

Some frames are very thin and have a side opening that lets you slide the record/CD cover into the frame. Some frames have a front of acrylic and sometimes aluminum, and a cardboard back. You put the album artwork between the acrylic front, place the cardboard on the back, and clip it together.

Other frames come in two acrylic sections allowing you to lift off the larger clear top, place your album inside, and then slip the frame top and album cover over a smaller plastic square/rectangle. This model might also have clips to hold the two parts together.

    • 3

Insert your album cover artwork according to your frame's design.

    • 4

Hang your albums on the wall, preferably where a stud is located. You can group four frames together to form a large square with about 2-inches between each frame for a decorator effect. Groupings of frames featuring album artwork by the same band or same artwork themes make attractive displays.
