How to Embed Album Art in Songs

Embedding album artwork in songs is a fairly straightforward task that can be done with a free program called iTunes. iTunes will allow you to import images, change track information and modify several other elements of metadata included with the player. The steps for importing album artwork into other media players is very similar to the process for iTunes.

Instructions

Download and install iTunes from their main website. iTunes is compatible with both Macintosh and PC systems and will allow you to insert your own album artwork.

Start iTunes and drag your music file over to the main program window. This will copy the file over and make it ready for editing.

    • 3

Select the media file you would like to edit and right-click the file to access a drop-down menu. The menu will have several options. Click on "Get Album Artwork" to check to see if album artwork is already available. If the album artwork is not found, go on to the next step.

Select the media file again and right click on the title. In the drop-down menu select "Get Info." Click on the "Artwork" tab and then select the "Add" button. A file manager box will appear and allow you to search your computer for the artwork you would like to include. Select the artwork and click "OK." Your album artwork has now been saved in the song.
