Youth International Jazz Festivals

Youth jazz festivals are a good way for burgeoning musicians to hone their craft and network with other young artists. International festivals give them an opportunity to expand their musical and cultural horizons as well as make new friends.
  1. Beaches International Jazz Festival

    • Held annually in Toronto, the BIJF is a 10-day festival that includes workshops and lectures. Instruction includes, but is not limited to, percussion, vocals and dance.

    Temecula Valley International Jazz Festival

    • This three-day event is held in Temecula, CA, located in Southern California wine country. The final day is a youth jazz festival and frequently includes such headliners as Pancho Sanchez and Trini Lopez. Admission for the youth portion is free.

Triad Youth Jazz Society International Jazz Festival

    • This festival is held annually in Greensboro, NC, and includes interactive exhibits for children, jazz and financial literacy workshops, as well as an art exhibit. In 2009, the festival also included the unveiling of the U.S Postal Service Heritage Stamp.
