How to Record a Serato Video Mix

Serato is a vinyl emulation software tool. Its hardware unit reads time-coded vinyl records and converts them to represent a position within a digital music file. This allows the DJ to manipulate digtal audio files on a computer, using a standard analogue turntable. Serato also includes a video mixing plugin called Video SL that allows the mixing of video clips, output to an external screen. While Serato cannot record these video mixes directly, it is possible to capture them.

Things You'll Need

Close the setup menu and click the "Video" tab on the central control panel, just above the cross-fader. This will open the video window. If you'd like to capture all your working of the controls, select "Capture All" or the equivalent. If you just want to capture the video output of your mix, select either your secondary display or "Output Window." Select a directory in which the captured files will be saved.
