How to Fix a Broken Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece
When an alto saxophone mouthpiece breaks it may be impossible to fix without sending it to a professional to correct the cracks. However, if the break is on the mouthpiece neck (the portion that fits over the saxophone neck) it is possible to prevent further breakage by applying a small piece of steel to its rim. This will close the break and prevent the mouthpiece from splitting in half. If you have breaks anywhere else on the mouthpiece, take it to a local music store and have them send it to a professional.

1
Measure the rim of the mouthpiece neck with the measuring tape. Each mouthpiece will be slightly different and you will need an exact measurement.
-
2
Visit a home improvement store and ask an attendant in hardware for a piece of aluminum tubing with the exact internal width you measured. Ask them to cut the pipe to 1/2-inch in length.

Apply epoxy glue to the inside of the aluminum pipe and push it on to the mouthpiece. If there are any other cracks in the mouthpiece, apply some glue to seal the cracks. Let the mouthpiece dry for several hours before playing.
