For more than 29 years, the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra has been performing in Naples. According to the website for the Center for the Arts, the orchestra has been recognized as South Florida's premier professional orchestras. With 49 full-time members, the orchestra performs classical, pops and chamber concerts from September to June. At the end of November, the orchestra teams up with a local ballet to perform "The Nutcracker" to kick off the holiday season.
The Philharmonic Youth Orchestra is made up of middle and high school students local to the Naples area. The youth orchestra performs a diverse range of music, including classical, opera and film-score performance. Twice a year, the youth orchestra performs with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as at Naples High School. Auditions for the youth orchestra are held before each season in the fall and spring.
The Philharmonic Center Chorale is made up of 100 members. The group performs with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra throughout the season, specializing in both classical and pops music. Every year, the the chorale and the orchestra join together to perform "Holiday Pops" and "Patriotic Pops." There is also a Youth Chorale that holds recitals throughout the year, as well as performances with the orchestra.
