Does the sound come out from tyhe bottom hole in a flute?

The sound produced by a flute does not come out of the bottom hole. The bottom hole is usually called the "foot hole" and it is covered by the player's foot to help control the pitch and tone of the instrument. The sound of a flute is produced when air is blown across a hole in the side of the flute, called the "embouchure hole." This causes the air inside the flute to vibrate and produce sound waves that exit through the open holes in the instrument. The pitch of the sound is determined by the length of the flute and the position of the player's fingers covering the other holes.
