Who brought the electric guitar to US?

The electric guitar was brought to the United States by George Beauchamp in the early 1920s. Beauchamp was a Hawaiian guitarist who lived in Los Angeles, and he was looking for a way to amplify the sound of his guitar so that he could play in larger venues. He worked with a local engineer named Adolph Rickenbacker to develop the first electric guitar pickup, and they patented their invention in 1931.
