Who created the clarinet?

The clarinet was invented by Johann Christoph Denner, a woodwind instrument maker from Nuremberg, Germany. During the early 18th century (about 1700 A.D.), Denner started experimenting with a rudimentary version of the instrument we now know as the clarinet.
