How many symphonies did Beethoven write while he was deaf?

Ludwig van Beethoven was not completely deaf when he wrote his symphonies. He began to lose his hearing in the late 1790s and gradually became completely deaf by 1818. During this time, he composed some of his most famous works, including the Ninth Symphony, which he completed in 1824.
