Does the mortal instruments series have a happy ending?

The Mortal Instruments series has a bittersweet ending. The main characters, Clary and Jace, are able to defeat the villain, Sebastian, and save the world. However, Clary's mother, Jocelyn, is killed in the battle, and Jace is forced to leave Clary behind in order to protect her. The two are eventually reunited, but their relationship is never the same. Despite these losses, the series ends on a hopeful note, with Clary and Jace determined to rebuild their lives together and continue fighting for what is right.
