What does the musical note la mean?

La is the 6th note of the Solfege system. It is also known as A.

In the Fixed-do solfège system, the pitch assigned to the syllable la is A440 Hz. This pitch is used as the standard tuning pitch for most musical instruments.

In the Moveable-do solfège system, the la syllable is assigned to the tonic, or first, note of the major scale. For example, in the key of C major, the la syllable would be assigned to the note C.
