Why are brass instruments made of coils metal tubing?

Brass instruments are not made of coiled metal tubing. They are made of a single length of tubing that is folded back on itself to create the instrument's shape. This design is used to create a more compact instrument that is easier to play. Additionally, the single length of tubing allows for a more even distribution of sound waves, which results in a richer and more resonant tone.
