Why the bass clef is also called f clef?

The bass clef, also known as the F clef, is named after the note it places on the staff. The symbol for the bass clef is a stylized letter "F" placed upside-down. The two dots on the clef symbol indicate that the note F is located on the fourth line of the staff.

The bass clef is used to notate the lower-pitched notes in a musical piece, typically played on instruments like the double bass, bass guitar, tuba, and cello. It is also used in vocal music for lower voices such as basso profundo and bass-baritone.
