If thunder is the sound of lightning could you make an instrument that will allow to light and in a similar way?

While lightning and thunder occur simultaneously, thunder is not the sound of lightning. Thunder is the sound produced by the rapid heating and expansion of air along the path of the electrical discharge of a lightning bolt. This generates an intense shock wave that propagates through the Earth's atmosphere as a loud booming sound. Therefore, it's not possible to create an instrument to artificially sound and light in a similar fashion.
